COVID 19 - Tips to avoid landfill below and "Think Differently" guides on preloved options!

sprogstogs

We are all having a clear out at the moment. Our children are growing out of their school shoes and not using them, you have bags of clothes ready to go off to the charity shop that you can't take anywhere, recycling centres are closed. What can you do? Love your clothes, gives great ideas and clear guidelines on how you can give your clothes a longer live, helping us to "think differently". Can you sow on a button or re-glue a sole on your shoe? Are you able to remove a stain? Can you recreate your textiles into something useful around the house, or can you find a local textile shop that can help? We have recently twinned up with Susan Taylor Designs in Bramley, Surrey. This means we can take items without buttons, zips and items that need some expert repair can be fixed and sold on. We are also searching for local shoe repair support to encourage leather recycling where possible. Every year over 300 million pairs of shoes are thrown out by the public in the UK, with the majority going to landfill. Recycling shoes and clothes can make a big difference to the environment. Buy less, buy fair trade and ethically and donate or sell on quality goods to us, and watch your items help support Baby Banks, charities and the community. Thanks for reading!
